Zoom to the Zoo and wander in Wonderland with GO Transit

How GO Transit makes summer fun easier and more affordable.

May 3, 2024

Getting there with GO has never been easier – with summer fun only a bus ride away.

Starting May 4, GO Explore weekend service resumes – meaning commuters can get to the Toronto Zoo and Canada’s Wonderland quickly and affordably.

Here’s how it works.

Getting to the Zoo

Hop on Go Bus Route 96 on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays like Victoria Day, Canada Day and the August civic holiday - and enjoy bus service right to the Toronto Zoo until August 25 – with a number of stops conveniently located along the Lakeshore East line.

Be sure to check the latest schedule for exact pickup times and stop locations.

Alternatively – ride the Lakeshore East Line to Rouge Hill GO Station and transfer to one of the various TTC bus routes heading to the zoo. With the One Fare Program, your TTC fare is free!

Save even more money by showing your PRESTO card at the zoo for 20 per cent off general admission, or 10 per cent off an annual membership for each cardholder.

Learn more about PRESTO here, and find out about the other discounts you can receive at Toronto attractions with PRESTO perks.

And for even more savings and family fun – kids 12 and under can always ride GO trains and buses for free.

Getting to Wonderland

Grab a seat on GO Bus routes 47 or 52 at stops in Peel and Durham Regions, featuring service to Canada’s Wonderland on weekends and the aforementioned holidays until August 25.

You can also ride the rails to Maple GO Station along the Barrie Line and hop on a YRT bus heading to Wonderland. Thanks to the One Fare Program, transferring from GO to York Region Transit buses is completely covered.

And of course, kids 12 and under can GO for free!

Ontario’s One Fare Program makes transferring from one transit system to another more simple, convenient and affordable.

Saving money with GO

On top of PRESTO Perks, the One Fare Program and free rides for kids 12 and under, GO customers can also save money with Weekend or Weekday passes. Here’s how it works.

One-Day Weekend Passes give you unlimited travel across the GO Network for a day on Saturdays, Sundays and some holidays for just $10!

Weekday Group Passes offer the same benefits for 2 to 5 people on Mondays through Fridays at an affordable flat rate.

Passes must be purchased online and cannot be obtained via PRESTO or at a station. You can buy them up to 7 days in advance. Remember to activate your pass 5 minutes prior to travel.

Summer fun doesn’t have to break the bank, and GO Transit is there to help you and your family enjoy the best of the season, and the region.
