Eglinton Crosstown LRT Forest Hill Station Acceleration
Feedback Opportunity
UPDATE: JANUARY 16, 2019
Metrolinx and Crosslinx recognize the concerns of the community and the local councillors, and have decided not to pursue the proiposal to close Bathurst Street one block north of Eglinton Avenue West. The permit application to the City of Toronto for this work has been withdrawn.
We acknowledge we could have done a better job engaging the community and the councillors. While closing Bathurst Street would have accelerated construction of Forest Hill Station by three months, we understand the community did not feel this benefit outweighted the impacts on area residents and business owners.
Metrolinx is building one of the largest transit projects in North America through highly congested, urbanized neighbourhoods. We know that construction can be disruptive and we will continue to work very hard with Crosslinz to minimize the impacts. Metrolinx and Crosslinx will continue to communicate with and engage the local community and elected representatives on all construction activities pertaining to the Eglington Crosstown LRT.
As part of that commitment, residents are still encouraged to attend tonight's town hall to give their input on this critical infrastructure project.
Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is proposing a closure of Bathurst Street from Eglinton Avenue West north to Wembley Road in an effort to accelerate the construction schedule related to Forest Hill Station. The acceleration plan will reduce disruption, congestion and improve safety during construction.
Your input is needed. You can comment here until 12:00PM, January 18, 2019 or come to a town hall on January 16, 2019. All comments will be considered and summarized for the City of Toronto.
