We appreciate the time that was taken to provide comments and concerns on this project. We’ve decided to remove the Lindenshire Avenue pedestrian access point from the coming upgrades to Maple GO Station. We will be continuing with the other upgrades to Maple GO to improve connectivity including the expansion of our existing bus loop, increased bicycle facilities, and a cycling connection over Major Mackenzie Drive.

Thank you for providing your feedback on the proposal for a pedestrian access to Maple GO on Lindenshire Avenue. We appreciate the time that was taken to provide us with your comments and concerns on this project. We’re currently doing our due diligence and reviewing public comments to determine next steps of the Maple GO upgrades. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any developments going forward.
Metrolinx is connecting communities across our region with more GO service, faster trains, more stations and seamless connections to a regional rapid transit network.
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program will transform the Barrie GO Line to offer all-day, two-way train service between Aurora to Union Station. A key part to achieving this goal is upgrading our stations with new tracks, bridges, and platforms to help connect our customers to their destinations faster.
This is precisely why we are currently upgrading Maple GO to provide a faster and more convenient commute for our customers.
Currently, we are in design and procurement and environmental assessment for a number of major upgrades to enable all-day two-way service at Maple GO.
These upgrades include:
A new west platform
Second track
Bus loop with 4 bus bays
Expanded Passenger Pick-up and Drop-off
Bicycle connections and facilities
Western pedestrian access point off Lindenshire Avenue
We expect these upgrades to be completed by Spring 2023.
