Davenport Diamond Grade Separation

The Davenport Diamond is one of the last high-traffic rail crossings in Toronto. After extensive research, analysis, and consultation on a number of different options, the decision has been made to build an overpass as the most beneficial, least disruptive, and lowest cost solution. Public input is invited on various aspects of the overpass design.

Here are some frequently asked questions about the Davenport Diamond Grade Separation project with answers provided, covering such topics as cost, construction impacts, neighbourhood benefits, and the potential for a new station.

A new overpass will replace the existing Davenport Diamond ground level crossing. The overpass has been specially designed to minimize the bridge length and reduce visual impact of the structure, while creating new and attractive public spaces beneath.

When constructed, the new overpass will offer many public benefits including increased community connectivity, new public spaces, improved rail corridor visual aesthetics, and reduced construction time, impact, and cost.
