The update on the Sunnybrook Park stop makes mention of a second retaining wall near the West Don bridge to be constructed in 2021. Would you please provide further information as to where exactly this is to be built and it’s purpose. Thanks.

In order to safely accomodate the widening of Eglinton Avenue for two westbound lanes of traffic between Leslie Street to Brentcliffe Road, a retaining wall is required on the north side, just west of the West Don River Bridge. When completed, a new sidewalk and bike lane will also be provided as part of the refreshed streetscape.

What will this intersection look like when work is finished (i.e. number of lanes, left turns allowed, etc). When will this be finished?

The Don Mills and Eglinton Intersection will facilitate the movement of traffic as follows:

East approach to the intersection heading westbound on Eglinton Avenue East:
One left turn lane; two through lanes; and one right turn lane

West approach to the intersection heading eastbound on Eglinton Avenue East:
One left turn lane; two through lanes; and one shared through and right lane

North approach to the intersection heading southbound on Don Mills Road:
One left turn lane; three through lanes; and one right turn lane

South approach to the intersection heading northbound on Don Mills Road:
One left turn lane; three through lanes; and one right turn lane

The scheduled completion date for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is in 2022. The final design also includes bike lanes along Eglinton Avenue East, heading both east and west.

Our website features depictions of the plans for each station, including an overview of the traffic configuration. Click here for a rendering of Eglinton and Don Mills: http://thecrosstown.ca/the-project/stations-and-stops/don-mills-station

In late 2021, Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) will be coordinating with the City of Toronto on this as policy changes are required.
