  • Scar-burrow - "I like to think of people moving around in subways and LRTs like little critters passing through burrows under the city."
  • Diggy Scardust - "It is a riff on Ziggy Stardust. Diggy because it is a digging machine and "Scar"dust because it is digging through the Scarborough earth and dust."
  • Scarbie SX – "An abbreviation for Scarborough Subway Extension."
  • Elizabeth - "Named after Elizabeth Simcoe, who named the area "Scarborough" after the limestone Scarborough Bluffs reminded her of her hometown of Scarborough, North Yorkshire, UK."
  • Rouge - "In honour of the major watercourse in the east end of Toronto, the Rouge River. Rouge is the French word for red which is the traditional colour of the Canadian flag and the TTC."
