Tracking the progress of the Diggy Scardust
AnonymousWill there be an online map that will track the latest location of Diggy Scardust?
Answer
MetrolinxThanks for the suggestion! We’ll look into what technology is available for us to track Diggy Scardust as it tunnels under McCowan Road. Tunnelling is expected to begin this summer.
Will there only be 1 enterence at the Sheppard station?
AnonymousIn the station diagrams released on March 7th, the 2 other stations are shown as having 2 entrances while the Sheppard station is shown to only have 1 entrance.
Answer
MetrolinxThe station overhead visuals provided are preliminary images that are subject to change. Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario released the Request for Proposals (RFP) and was issued to three shortlisted teams on February 8, 2022.
Once our construction partner is onboard, Metrolinx will start to collaborate and refine the plans for the station design. We hope to share updated visuals that illustrate the outline of the finished design with the community in the future.
Sheppard
AnonymousThe Sheppard station bus terminal plan is shown to be a north west position, is it possible to build it as a north position instead of north west position
Answer
MetrolinxUnfortunately the location of station buildings and their facilities cannot be changed. Our teams have done intensive planning with our partners at the TTC and City over the last few years to find the best location for these facilities.
is there impact with the McCowan and Milner intersection?
Anonymousis there any impact to the Milner intersection and the 132 that goes through the area?
Answer
MetrolinxDuring the construction we will have some impacts to traffic. At the Emergency Exit Buildings and Station locations, there will be a reduction in the number of lanes. At all times, through-traffic will be maintained on the major roads McCowan, Sheppard, Lawrence, Danforth and Eglinton. There will be times when turns are prohibited and in rare instances where roads are closed.
We will be engaging and sharing our construction mitigation and traffic plans with the community as design progresses and construction details are confirmed with our construction partners. Roadway widening, traffic shifts or temporary roadway decking where possible will be used to minimize impact to traffic and roadway.
Ttc buses for STC and sheppard
AnonymousSo as if now, 129 McCowan north, 130 Middlefield, 131 Nugget, 169 hunting wood, 939 finch express all go to STC, in 2030, will they go to sheppard station or will they go both to Sheppard and STC as a branch, like the bus goes to STC via sheppard east station
Answer
MetrolinxAll our stations are being designed to include local TTC bus connections. The actual routes and bus schedules will depend on the TTC’s future service plans, when the line is in operation.
what to expect for the emergency exit buildings?
Anonymousi know station designs haven't been completed yet but is there any info on what the emergency exit buildings might look like and how big they are?
Answer
MetrolinxAn Emergency Exit Building is a structure that provides an alternative for a means of escape in an emergency. It also provides an alternative if the route to the regular exit is blocked.
Emergency Exit Buildings were briefly discussed during the Q&A session of this Virtual Open House. The recorded session is available to view again on the Engage website. More specific details regarding the dimensions of these buildings will be shared as the designs are finalized.
Subway Deal with Property Owners
AnonymousHas the deal been finalized with the property owners of the land/property by Metrolinx. We are Owners of the property of the portion of land at the EEB7 McCowan& Sheppard and owners of the condominium have no idea if the deal has been made by the management and have the payment been done or not and the management does not give a clear opinion for the owners of 1701/1703/1705 unit owners.
Owners have been asking from a long time and want to know about it. If you do not know who can help us and how can we get this information and contact details
Answer
MetrolinxMetrolinx is committed to being a good neighbour and work towards building transit infrastructure that benefits the entire community. As a part of this process, Metrolinx is required to negotiate with the condo board, not individual unit holders. Unfortunately, we are unable to discuss the compensation details or provide legal advice in this matter. Please continue your efforts to communicate with your condo board to obtain the information you’d like to confirm.
