Mimico TPS
Advantages:
- Accommodates approximate facility dimension requirements; satisfies site configuration requirement
- Aerial connection from Hydro One’s 230kV transmission line
- There is existing road access
- No environmental features on/surrounding the site
- The site is not within the vicinity of residential areas. It is designated as Employment Areas, and is currently an industrial storage area
- No known/active development applications on the site
- No anticipated cultural heritage issues, to be con rmed as part of impact assessment phase
Disadvantages:
- Length of required 230kV aerial connection route is approximately 3 km. However it follows the existing rail ROW (Canpa sub).
- Site is not owned by Metrolinx
Oakville SWS
Advantages:
- Accommodates approximate facility dimension requirements; satisfies site configuration requirement
- There is existing road access, however a new easement through existing parking lot may be required
- The site is open space with no natural environmental features
- The site is not within the vicinity of residential areas. It is designated as an Employment Area, and is currently used as industrial storage
- No known/active development applications on the site
- Low potential for built heritage resources and cultural heritage landscapes within or adjacent to the facility location
- Site is owned by Metrolinx
Disadvantages:
- None identified
Burlington TPS
Advantages:
- Accommodates approximate facility dimension requirements; satisfies site configuration requirement
- Relatively short 230kV aerial connection route (from existing Hydro One 230kV transmission line)
- There is existing road access
- The site is not within the vicinity of residential areas or sensitive social features. It is designated as General Employment, and is currently open space
- No vegetation present on site; low potential for Species at Risk species
- Non-heritage property

- Site is not owned by Metrolinx
