Explanation of proposed change:
Weston is an existing station on GO's Kitchener Line as well as UP Express. In order to avoid confusion with the other stations, Emery Village has been suggested as a possible new name. As Emery is the historical name for the intersection and surrounding neighbourhood, the name Emery Village is both logical and self-locating.

Represents local neighbourhood and does not confuse transit riders due to far distance from Weston GO station on KI and UPE rail corridors.
The village was called Emery. It wasn't called Emery Village.
People lived in Emery.
I get the local BIA has upped the Village name in its work. But to be consistent with other stations, the name Village should not be used.
It makes me think of Georgio Mammoliti, the corrupt city councillor for the area!
In recognition of it's historical name sake.. Weston Rd & FInch has always been the centre of Emery
I feel Emery Village is the best name for this stop because it connects to the history and origins of the local neighbourhood. It is short and easy to remember and will help to attract government, commercial and private economic investments as more people will want to work, live and play here. The City of Toronto is growing along with the infrastructure that is needed to maintain and keep up with that projected growth. To name an LRT stop based on the historical roots of a neighbourhood can only attract more local investments that encourages people stay or move to this neighbourhood because of the increased quality of life and sense of community based benefits.

Separates Weston the village from the Road that passes through Emery.
The name is logical and but not self-locating since it is not named after a major road. Locating the village or station would require an internet search/maps search and multiple clicks.
Fits with the history of the intersection and the nearby Emery Collegiate Institute high school
Can’t compete with liberty village or pioneer village
Perfect.
This is an excellent name as it represents the nearby community and avoids confusion.
I agree that the station name should not be "Weston"to avoid confusion, but it is strongly suggested that the station be subtitled "Weston Road" much like the stations on Line 1 under University Avenue (e.g. St. Patrick is subtitled "Dundas Street").
Great -- although maybe just call it "Emery"
The Town of Weston is further south, so "Weston" shouldn't be used. "Emery" is fine.
Weston is more recognizable
Just call it Emery
'Emery Village' is a good name due to the area's history and the nearby Emery Collegiate Institute.
I generally identify Emery *Village* (where residential uses are clustered) as being around the Sheppard and Weston intersection. Humber Summit is also generally to the northwest. I think a neighbourhood name, while desirable in my opinion, is difficult to apply in this location. Just 'Emery' is the BIA name that applies to the area, however, and may work better.
Just EMERY, no village.
Just "Emery" would be fine
Same reason as for Islington and Kipling ... the rest of the system doesn't use 'neighbourhoods' to name their stops, they use major street intersections. Call it Weston North or Finch and Weston ... give it something for non-residents/regular users to know where they're going. The system has to be has transparent as possible, not an opaque 'this feels right' even if it doesn't make sense either to locals or outside users.
There is no confusion with duplicates.
It's a very nice name as it's separates Emery from the rest of Weston Road. However, I believe the name should be shortened to just "Emery", as it's simpler and smoother.
What is Emery Village. I have never heard of it. Weston I know all about.
Just name the stop after the street it is on.
The name represents the neighborhood and the nearby Emery Collegiate Institute.
It brings ppl back to the original village/town, as old as Toronto itself they say...
It heightens the past and gives kudos to the present, another yay!!
Perhaps just shorten to "Emery"
Again, a name with historical context -- a hamlet named Emery grew at the intersection of Finch and Weston long before the rest of the surrounding area was urbanized. The local Business Improvement Area uses this name to identify itself. Perhaps it could more simply be just "Emery", rather than "Emery Village".
Even though the station name does make sense, I feel like the reason why they need to change the name doesn't make sense-keep in mind that there are two unrelated stations-one on the TTC and another one on the GO Lakeshore line-are both called Eglinton, but no one ever bothered to rename either of them-maybe rename the TTC station to Midtown or Canada Square or the GO station to Bellamy or maybe Cliffcrest? Other than that, however, I think it's a good station name.
It also sounds really cool and is well known
I think it not only describes the immediate community, but also refers to the local high school just a block away.
My suggestion WESTON EMERY or WESTON VILLAGE
Doesn't roll of the tongue like Weston, Mid-West, Concept!
Name it something more reflective of what residents would call it. For instance, "Weston-Finch or Finch-Weston."
The name for the stop at Weston Rd. and Finch Ave. West stop should be Emery, definitely not Emery Village. The Emery Village BIA is clearly advocating for this name. The historical name for the community was Emery - not Emery Village. A Stop on a Transit Line should not be named after a business lobby group. Even if the BIA, were to claim otherwise, the benefits that accrue from the name are for the businesses, not the residents of the community. An enormous condominium development is underway at Weston Rd. and Finch Ave. - 10 buildings. The BIA and the local councillor have been pushing for the entire north-west area of Ward 7 to become Emery Village. The BIA must be stopped on this Stop Name.
Local residents are upset by the self-serving behaviour of the Board of Management of the Emery Village BIA. I would be pleased to speak further about this.

Emery Village would be an effective name for this Finch West LRT station. To avoid confusion with the existing Weston GO station, it may be more appropriate to provide a different name. The name, Emery Village, describes the neighbourhood area very concisely, and is easy to remember, even for individuals who are not familiar with the area. The station and its surrounding area has the potential to become a key focal point of Toronto, and a local destination for residents. I am very supportive of using the name Emery Village for this LRT station.
This stop is at the heart of Emery Village and quite appropriate.
