Eglinton Crosstown West Extension – Elevated Section Survey

The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will extend the Eglinton Crosstown LRT 9.2 kilometres farther west to Renforth Drive. It will create a continuous rapid transit line along Eglinton Avenue from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga, making it easier for people to get where they need to be each day.

map displaying the sections and stations of the Eglinton Crosstown West Extension. The extension will operate in a mix of underground and elevated sections, including:

  • Renforth Drive to west of Scarlett Road (underground)
  • West of Scarlett Road to east of Jane Street (elevated)
  • East of Jane Street to the future Mount Dennis station (underground)

The elevated section will clear-span the Humber River, with no permanent infrastructure in the riverbed. The height of the elevated section is approximately six metres from the ground to the underside of the structure as it crosses Scarlett Road and Jane Street. It is approximately 18 metres in height from the ground to the underside at the Humber River crossing, which is the highest point.

Learn more about the elevated section here. This survey is focused on gathering feedback on potential design options for specific visual features of the elevated section as well as public spaces below/adjacent to it.
