You indicated to another individual that "the project is currently tracking for completion in 2022" Can you please provide a more direct answer for all of us. We as tax payers have spent billions on this project so the least we can expect is a direct answer. Plz answer saying which month the LRT will open. Please answer in this format Month, 2022!!

The project is still currently tracking for completion in 2022, but a specific month or date has not yet been announced. When that information becomes available it will be widely publicized on all of our platforms.

Phil Vester stated EGLRT won't be operational "well into 2022"

Can you speak to Phil or your team and answer what "well into 2022" means? You keep saying exact date/month is unknown but pleas tell us at least Q3 or Q4 2022?

Line 5 is projected to launch in 2022.

I agree with Sammy's Question. Phil Vester said "well into 2022". Stop giving us the scripted/run around answer & at least give us what Quarter it will open. It seems likely to be Q4 as that is October - December and would be well into 2022 but can you confirm Q4? Don't respond saying oh it will open 2022. Respond with which Quarter it will open.

For instance, pavement on East Don River bridge was removed weeks ago, and unlike other sections repaved within hours/days, it's still a mess, with traffic slowing to a crawl for big bumps. Not an isolated incident - lanes get closed for days/weeks, used as staff parking lots during rush hour, etc. Show some consideration for the community!

The stretch of Eglinton Avenue East between the DVP and Credit Union/Swift Drives had been postponed and rescheduled several times due to poor weather conditions, primarily rain. There have been other areas by Don Mills, Bermondsey/Sloane, and Victoria Park that were repaved on schedule, but this area has been the exception. We apologize for the inconvenience that caused, but fortunately the crews were finally able to complete the repaving two days ago.

Will the 25 Don Mills and 925 Don Mills express go inside the bus bay to drop off and pick up passengers or it will just drop and pick up on street. Thanks.

If the buses pass through the intersection of Don Mills and Eglinton, it is likely that they will go into the new bus terminal for Science Centre Station. That being said, both of these routes are TTC bus routes and this would be an inquiry for the TTC to respond to, not Metrolinx.

Will they be one or two LRT operators on Line 5? Usually Line 3 and 4 run by one train operators and line 1 and 2 run by two Operators. Thanks

Why do you take more than 2 months to post videos of Progress Update at the underground stations?

Anonymous's avatar

Currently, eastbound Eglinton narrows to one lane on the approach to the CPR underpass and there does not appear to be sufficient space between the LRT right-of-way and the bridge abutment to allow for 2 lanes of traffic plus the combined sidewalk/bike lane. What are the plans for this location and when is it scheduled for completion?

The plans for Eglinton Avenue at this location is for two lanes of traffic in each direction, 1 bike lane and 1 multi-use path/sidewalk. The work is ongoing and will occur with road restorations which will take place in the new year.

On Sat. Nov. 13, 2021, I saw LRV trains 6250-6251 & 6262-6260 parked just east of Brentcliffe portal & there were 2 more LRVs just to the west of these (#'s unknown). 6252, 54, 56, 55, 44 & 46 came by truck to Rosemount & Eg. last May-June, so these are new (I think in last week). Did new 1's come by truck or over the rails all the way from EMSF?

Will both the underground stations & surface stops have Payphones like the existing subway network?

Metrolinx's avatar

Metrolinx
Nov 18, 2021 - 13:14

Pay phones shall be provided in underground stations, bus terminals, and passenger parking lots. Although stops will not have payphones, they will be equipped with Passenger Assistance Intercom which can be used by passengers for information and in emergency situations while travelling along the line.

What's all this tunnel ventilation shaft at Line 1 about?

Metrolinx's avatar

Metrolinx
Nov 23, 2021 - 15:47

The ventilation system will be located on the TTC corridor south of Berwick used for the TTC Line 1 Subway System. Housed in a concrete structure, the new ventilation system will include smoke extraction for emergency situations at Eglinton station. Fans will be equipped with acoustic dampers to reduce noise, and, outside of emergency situations, will only run for testing purposes.

How come there's construction delays at Kennedy, Forest Hill, Mount Pleasant and Cedarvale stations?

Metrolinx's avatar

Metrolinx
Nov 16, 2021 - 13:53

Every station is different. Different construction methods, different soil conditions, different station designs and different surface conditions or impacts to consider when scheduling construction activities. Although underground stations are at various stages of completion, the ECLRT as a whole is over 80% complete.

1. When the intersection at Dufferin & Eglinton be restored next year, will the left turns be restored too?

Metrolinx's avatar

Metrolinx
Nov 16, 2021 - 13:47

Generally, when final road restorations are complete, traffic movements are restored. But it can only be confirmed once the construction stage approaches and construction information has been shared by the contractor that we can share with the public.

How come Wynford stop can't connect with Richmond Hill Go which below eglinton

Metrolinx's avatar

Metrolinx
Nov 16, 2021 - 13:39

Richmond Hill GO operates transit routes in Richmond Hill. The TTC operates transit routes in Toronto. Wynford Stop does not have a bus terminal connected to it, but Science Centre Station, located two stops west of Wynford Stop, does. However, TTC bus routes will be connected to Science Centre Station and possibly GO bus routes, but that would be a question for GO Transit.
