What happens if my house is within the 30 m buffer?

Notice of the designation will be registered on the title to your property, If you are planning to build, change or place a building, other structure or road on or under your property, a permit from Metrolinx may be required in addition to (and prior to) any necessary municipal permits. The same applies to excavation and water drainage work.

So, Mike - are you saying there will be cut and cover elements along the corridor near McCowan and Ellesmere?

Cut-and-cover is a more traditional method of building a subway station where the ground above the site is excavated, and infrastructure is built in the excavated space.

What impacts to Thomson Memorial Park on the west side of McCowan are anticipated at this time?

We currently do not anticipate any impacts to Thomson Memorial Park based on the current construction designs. As the project evolves, we'll continue to update the community on the progress with the Scarborough Subway Extension.

I looked at the maps on your website and does the Transit Corridor Lands indicated in yellow on these maps include the 30 m buffer or not?

Have the effected backyard properties land owners on McCowan been notified by letter yet

If a property owner hasn’t been contacted by Metrolinx yet, it could be for one of two reasons: either the current project plan does not anticipate any impacts to their property, or staff may not be at the stage where they are able to confirm if their property is indeed needed.
